KNOWING YOUR REAL PEOPLE- BY MALAIKA

Know your people. And I don't mean those who are always around you - I mean your real people.

Know who TRULY has your back and will stand by you through thick and thin.

Know who is in your life because of who you are and not what you have.

Know who mentions your name in a room full of opportunities.

Know who people wouldn't feel comfortable gossiping about you in their presence.

Know who will remember the song in your heart and sing it back to you when you forget the lyrics.

And here's the most important thing: when you know those people, do not jeopardise the relationship. And if you do, because sometimes as humans we err and hurt people we love and who love us, go back and fix things with those people. To your people, you apologise. You do the work. You lose pride over the ones you love, rather than lose the ones you love over pride. And know who those are. Know your people.
